James H. Carter, 69-year-old resident of Palatka for 12 years, died in a local hospital Sunday. The retired livestock broker came to Palatka from Blackshear, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Calvary Baptist Church in Sunnihites, with burial at Oak Hill East Cemetery. Rev. Will Eddy will officiate, assisted by Rev. Gail Smith. Masters Funeral Home is in charge.
Pallbearers will be Bill Branton, Leslie Sanders, E .Walt Pellicer, Herschel Nelson, M. F. Richard and J. W. June. Honorary bearers are Warren Hewitt, Semy Foley, Roy Andrews and W. T. Allen.
Survivors of the deceased are his wife, Mrs. Rosetta Carter, Palatka; two daughters, Mrs. Ella Mae Clark, Seville and Mrs. Willie Bare, Bellview; three sons, H. O., Palatka, T. E., Palatka and L. O., Jacksonville; one sister, Mrs. l. H. Stokes, Douglas, Ga.; two brothers, Dan J. and Walter L., Palatka; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. (Palatka Daily News, Monday, 7 Jul 1958.)
