John S. Pauly, 40, 31 E. Grand St., died Monday night at St. Agnes hospital, Fond du Lac following a lingering illness.

He was born in the town of Brothertown on Dec. 25, 1913 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pauly. He attended school at Charlesburg and was a coremaker at Hart-Carter Co. plant at New Holstein. He married Clara Bauer on Jan. 27, 1940 in Chilton.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic church, the Chilton Eagles and the Moulders and Foundry Union Local No. 345.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Bartelme officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s cemetery.

Survivors are his wife, one son, Richard at home; one brother, Joseph of Chilton; six sisters, Miss Lucy Pauly, Los Angeles, Mrs. Herbert LeFeber, Stockbridge, Mrs. Albert Mauer, Sheboygan, Mrs. Walter Gartzke, New Holstein, Mrs. Irwin Bubb, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Alfred Schermeister, Milwaukee.
