Lucy was born on December 31, 1931, to the late Eddie and Susie (Allen) Poe in Alger, OH. Lucy married DeWayne Earl Salsbury on May 15, 1948, and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1998 after 50 years of marriage.
Lucy is survived by eight children: Anna Marie "Sally" Rowe, Retha Ann "Sis" Shumaker, Dorothy "Jeanie" Dysert, DeWayne Earl "Tim" Salsbury, Thearse May "Dolly" (Wink) Lawrence, Rita Faye (Greg) Collins, David Allen (Evelyn) Salsbury, Angela Christine (Dennis) Hamilton; eight sisters: Dorothy (Albert) Garver, Opal Holbrook, Ruby Nichols, Faye (Malcum) Patton, Shirley (Howard) Biederman, Nancy (Harold) Yoakam, Marsha (Randy) Phillips, and Mary Ann Daniels; two brothers: John (Joeann) Poe and Carl "Butch" (Charlotte) Poe; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Lucy was also preceded in death by four brothers: Curtis, Merlin, Felix, and Robert Poe; sister, Esther Poe; and one infant son.
Lucy was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, gardening, and shopping.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington, where visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Reverend Eugene Haney will officiate and burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery, Madison Twp., Hancock County.
