Helen B. Werdeo, 84, of 3 E. Mueller Rd., Kiel died Thursday, Aug. 18, at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan.
She was born Feb. 3, 1910 in Charlesburg, a daughter of Michael and Margaret Vollmer Wendel. On Aug. 14, 1926 she married Matthew Werdeo at Holy Redeemer Catholic church in Milwaukee. She and her husband farmed in the Town of Schleswig until retiring. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel, the Christian Mothers, Kiel Senior Citizens and Kiel Senior Singers.
Survivors include five son, Elmer and his wife Rose Ann, Ronald and his wife Darlene, Bob Sr. and his wife Arlene and Dan and his wife JoAnn, all of Kiel, and Ken and his wife Kathy of Ada; two daughters, Jeanette Strickland and her husband Alvin of Rome, Ga., and Barbara Marx and her husband Clarence of Kingman, Ariz.; 25 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one brother, Herman Wendel of Minneapolis, Minn.; and two sisters, Erma Becker of Rural Elkhart Lake and Josephine Klapperich, Marytown. Preceded her in death were her husband on March 10, 1981; three brothers and one sister and a grandson.
A funeral Mass was held Saturday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel with burial in the parish cemetery.
