She was born Jan. 12, 1909, in Charlesburg, the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Vollmer Wendel.
She married Theodore "Melvin" Klapperich on Sept. 5, 1928, in Marytown.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown and its Altar and Rosary Society, the Marytown Homemakers, a 4-H Leader, St. Lawrence Seminary Guild and the Third Order of St. Francis. Josephine was also a volunteer at the Villa Loretto and the Red Cross blood drives in Mount Calvary.
Survivors include her four sons, Jim (Diana) of Fond du Lac, John (Kathy) of Palm Coast, Fla., and Joe (Cindy) and Ted (Anne), both of Kiel; and three daughters, Margaret Klapperich of Ripon and Marian Klapperich and Leah (William Mueller) Klapperich, both of Milwaukee; and a special sister, Sr. Deborah Golias, CSA, of Fond du Lac; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin in 1958; two sons, Michael and infant Melvin; one daughter, Jacqueline Jeanty; four brothers; and three sisters.
Services: Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown.
Visitation: Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at the church.
Memorials may be given to Villa Loretto in care of the Sisters Servants of Christ the King. The family would like to thank with love Marita and Lloyd Larsen and all the sisters and staff at Villa Loretto for their extraordinary loving care.
