Daniel married Elizabeth Frankenberger on 5 Mar 1818 at the 1st Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
By some time in the 1830's Dan and Elizabeth had moved to Gettysburg, PA where he became the Steward of the Theological Seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. In this position, he was responsible to the maintenance of the building and the grounds which housed the Seminary Students. At that time there was only one building and today it houses the Adams County Historical Society. He chopped the wood, took care of the cows, and other animals, which were a source of food for his family and the students. Elizabeth cooked and washed for the students, along with raising a garden.
Today, the quarters in which they lived are still there in the basement along with the large fireplace.
Daniel was also an Elder in Christ Lutheran Church in Gettysburg and his name is found among their records: "9 April 1841 - Daniel Miller - After a lingering illness of several months, in the triumph of faith, rejoicing in the Lord. He was Steward of Theol. Seminary & Elder in the Church, at the time of his death".
Daniel would have been buried in the Lutheran Cemetery which no longer exists.

Hart and moved to Green Co, WI; Rebecca Miller b. 26 May 1831 - no further details; Augustus b. 28 Jan 1835, fought in the Civil War, m.
