.. HUNTINGTON, W.Va., - Richard Wayne Steinmetz, 68, of Huntington, W.Va., died unexpectedly June 8 at his residence.
.. Born Oct. 26, 1920 in Knox County he was the son of Clinton and Gertrude (Gorsuch) Steinmetz. He was a graduate of Gambier High School and attended Ohio University at Athens. A member of the 720th Engineering Corps, he served in the European campaigns of World War II. At the time of his death, he was plant manager of American National Rubber Co. at Ceredo, W.Va.
.. Surviving are his wife, Faye (Martin) Steinmetz; a daughter, Maureen Mick of Huntington; a granddaughter; a brother, Dale Steinmetz of Mount Vernon; and three sisters, Mrs. Harold (Ila) Butcher of Mount Vernon, Mrs. Neil (Marie) Wheaton of Brandon and Helen Patterson of Gambier. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Robert and Floyd Steinmetz.
.. Graveside services were conducted Saturday in White Chapel Memorial Gardens at Barboursville, W.Va.
