~ REPUBLICAN-NEWS ~ MOUNT VERNON ~ Friday, 15 July 1921 - Mrs. Gertrude Jeanette Steinmetz, wife of Clinton Steinmetz of Pleasant township, died Thursday evening at 5:20 o'clock after an illness of three days. The cause of her death was an attack of elephantisis. Mrs. Steinmetz was 35 years of age at the time of her death, having been born in this county in 1885. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Gorsuch. Mrs. Steinmetz is survived by her husband, one brother and one sister, Mr. F.F. Gorsuch of this city and Mrs. McCalla of Pleasant township, and by eight children at home, namely; Marie, Lawrence, Dale, Ila, Robert, Helen, Floyd and Richard. The funeral services at the home on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in the Hopewell cemetery. Retyped - TJD2013
