Anna F. Schermetzler, age 90, formerly of 8724 Post Road, Whitelaw, and currently a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc, died on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Shady Lane.The former Anna Schamburek was born on July 26, 1920, in the town of Franklin, daughter of the late John and Clara (Meidl) Schamburek. She attended St. Michael Grade School at Whitelaw. On June 19, 1940, Anna married Norbert E. Schermetzler at St. Michael Catholic Church in
Whitelaw. The couple farmed in the town of Kossuth, and Norbert preceded her in death on March 15, 1999. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the St. Mary's Altar Society. Anna enjoyed family get-togethers, flower gardening, doing word-search puzzls, playing bingo, and praying the rosary for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert; twin sons; one daughter and son-in-law: Lily Ann (Robert) Naidl; her parents: John and Clara Schamburek; seven sisters; three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at St.Augustine Church in Reifs Mills. The Rev. Paul Paider will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home in Kellnersville on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. There will a prayer service at 7:45 p.m. led by Fr. Paul. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m.
The family would like to thank the staff of Shady Lane for the compassionate care and concern given to Anna during her stay.
