CLARA T. FRANZ
Clara T. Franz, age 92, of Manitowoc passed away Saturday morning,Jan. 6, 2007, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.
Clara was born on Sept. 26, 1914, in Whitelaw, daughter of the late John and Clara (Meidl) Schamburek. On Jan. 10, 1934, she married Joseph C. Franz at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whitelaw. The couple celebrated 72 years of marriage. Clara also was employed with Mirro Aluminum Co. for 20 years until her retirement. She was a 60 year member of the St. Mary Rosary and Altar Society and a member of the St. Clare Society. Clara was a 25-year volunteer at St. Mary’s Home and for 20 years, she counted the collection offerings on Monday mornings at the St. Mary’s Rectory.

Clara also was preceded in death by one daughter, Elaine (Franz) Thone,one son: Eugene Franz; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Lorretta(Andrew) Ebert, Margaret (John) Ebert, Monica (William) Baroun, Elsie(Robert) Bennington and Georgianna Krall; three brothers and two sisters-in-laws Jack (Grace) Schamburek, George (Mae) Schamburek andRobert Schamburek; one brother-in-law; Norbert Schermetzler; five sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall Street in Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Thomas Wojciechowski
O.F.M. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
