John G. Schambureck, 86, of Whitelaw, died Thursday at Maple Crest Sanitarium, Whitelaw. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Reedsville Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The Rev. Leo Schmitt will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Schambureck was born October 19, 1881, in the town of Franklin, son of the late Joseph and Barbara Schrimpf Schambureck. He married Clara Meidl November 2, 1904, at St. Michael Church and the couple farmed in the Town of Franklin until his retirement in 1947. His wife died January 23, 1950. Mr. Schambureck was a 50 year member of Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and a member of Holy Name Society.
Survivors are nine daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Loretta) Ebert of Rt. 1, Cato, Mrs. Joseph (Clara) Franz and Mrs. Leo (Georgianna) Krall of Manitowoc, Mrs. Robert (Elsie) Bennington of Whitelaw, Ms. William (Monica) Baroun of Rt. 2, Cato, Mrs. William (Florence) Fritsch of Cato, Mrs. Norbert (Anna) Schermetzler of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, Mrs. Charles (Leonis) Typner of Pomona, Calif., and Mrs. Leroy (Theresa) Kohlbeck of Appleton; two sons, George of Reedsville and Robert of Rt. 1, Whitelaw; 63 grandchildren and 105 great grandchildren. A son, a daughter, a sister and four brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday where at 7 p.m. the Rosary will be recited.
