Gordon O. Dvorak, age 80, of 2411 34th St., Two Rivers, went peacefully to his eternal rest early Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at the Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers.

Gordon was born July 20, 1928, in Mishicot, son of the late Adolph and Martha (Ihlenfeld) Dvorak, Jr. He attended Tisch Mills district school and was a 1946 graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc. He served in Germany in 1952 as a member of the U.S. Army with the Battery A 793 Field Artillery Battalion and was a member of the honor guard for many years. Gordy was also a member and past commander of the Kempen-Staudinger-Terens V.F.W. Post 7753 of Mishicot. On May 5, 1951, he married Irene M. Wachowski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The couple were long time members of St. Mark's Catholic Church, where Gordon served as lector and communion distributor, and are presently members of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Gordon worked for the Manitowoc Company-Ice Division for many years, retiring in 1990. He also worked part-time for longtime friend, Dave Stangel at Dave's Sport Center in Two Rivers. Gordon loved caring for his roses, traveling, cooking for his family and taking care of his grandchildren; and enjoyed hunting and fishing. We couldn't have asked for a more precious husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

(Survivors omitted for privacy.)

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Nancy M. Vogel; a brother: Milton Dvorak; and one brother-in-law: Rudy Novitski.
