Herman Dykstra, 63, of Rock Valley died suddenly Monday, August 30 in a hospital in Denver, Colo.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley. The Rev. Roger Bultman officiated. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery. Visitation was from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Porter Funeral Home.
Mr. Dykstra was born Sept. 1, 1918, at Hull. He married Jennie Evers April 23, 1941, in Perkins.
He was a livestock dealer in the Rock Valley area, retiring in 1981.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Herman of Denver; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Carol) Danneberg of Denver; his mother, Mrs. Henrietta Dykstra of Hull; four brothers, Peter, Dick and Art, all of Hull and Harry of Canton, S.D.; three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Brummel of Rock Valley, Mrs. Martin (Stella) Hoekstra of Sheldon and Mrs. Charles (Jennette) Stienstra of Hull and three grandchildren.
