Mr. Arthur Dykstra, age 89, of Hull, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

Arthur was born on April 19, 1925, in Perkins, the son of Ed and Henrietta (Vis) Dykstra. He was raised in Hull, where he attended the public school. During World War II, he served in the United States Army from August 4, 1943, to November 3, 1945, receiving five battle stars. Following his honorable discharge, he moved to Hull. After his father passed away, he cared for his mother and sister, Ena. He was employed by Dykstra Produce in Hull and Milton G. Waldbaum Company in Wakefield, Nebraska, for 27 years.

On June 5, 1987, he married Eldoris Irene (Tiedemann) Kruse in Rock Rapids. They made their home in Hull, where he was a devoted husband, whose family meant the world to him. In September of 2014, he became a resident of Pleasant Acres.

Mr. Dykstra was a lifetime member of the Hope Christian Reformed Church and a member of the Wegman-Koele American Legion Post in Hull. He liked attending the Senior Citizens Club.

He enjoyed basketball, bowling (his favorite sport), football, visiting, and walking.

Those left to mourn include his beloved wife of more than 27 years; a step-son and his wife, Kordell and Carolyn Kruse. of Aurelia; and their daughter, Alyssa Kruse; a step-daughter and her husband, Judy and Gary Borman, of Rock Rapids; and their three sons, Jayd Borman, and his wife, Missy; Joshua Borman, and Caleb Borman; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Dick and Ann Dykstra, of Hull; and Harry and Beverly Dykstra, of Rock Valley; a sister-in-law, Grace Dykstra, of Hull; and many nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Kruse; and nine brothers and sisters.
