Esther J. Klein, age 81, a St. Mary's Home resident, died Monday morning, March 17, 1997, at St. Mary's Home.

She was born February 27, 1916, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Tom and Josephine (née Markowski) Gadzinski.

She married Harold W. Klein on August 28, 1938, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1985.

Esther had been employed at the Cher-Make Sausage Company for many years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Esther was an avid bowler and loved to dance.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Sharon Klein, David and Cindy Klein, all of Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and David Meisner, Iowa; one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Evangeline Gadzinski, Manitowoc; one sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Norbert Herzog, Manitowoc; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Leonard, Alois, Florian, Thomas, Victor, Sylvester and Edwin; two sisters, Rose Tollefson and Lillian Stelzer; one grandson, Bryan.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
