Caroline M. Schwartz, 78, of 13232 Point Creek Road, Newton, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 27, 2002 unexpectedly at her home.
She is the former Caroline Koeppen born Feb. 1, 1924 in the Town of Meeme, daughter of the late Christian and Alvina Schmidt Koeppen. She attended Woodland Park School in the town of Meeme. On Oct. 14, 1944 she married Allen E. Schwartz at Zion Lutheran church, Louis Corners. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1995. Caroline was employed at A.A. Laun Furniture in Kiel for 25 years retiring in 1987. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel and the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Survivors include one son, Richard of Newton; one daughter, Linda (Richard) Scholten, Cleveland; one granddaughter, one sister, Olieta Wagner of Louis Corners; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille Schwartz, Howards Grove and Flora Herzog of Watertown. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Herbert, Elmer, and Marvin.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel with the Rev. David Laabs officiating. Burial will take place in St. James Cemetery, Spring Valley.
