Joseph F. Parkos Sr., 82, resident of Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers, died at the home late Thursday morning, 12 Nov 1987.

He was born to John and Mary (Franek) Parkas on 9 August 1905 in New Prague, Minnesota.

On 19 October 1926 he married Myrtle Amans at Hayward. She preceded him in death in 1985. He was a resident of Algoma from 1943 until 1979, at which time he moved to Two Rivers.

Survivors include 12 children. Six daughters and five sons-in-law: Betty and Lester Anschutz, Jeanette and Donald Thomas, Rosemary and Daniel Meissner, Diane and Paul Frenz, and Sara Parkos, all of Two Rivers; Doris and Irvin Gillis, Green Bay. Six sons and daughters-in-law: Francis and Loretta, Algoma; Donald and Janet, Kewaunee; Dennis and Pat, Manitowoc; Joseph Jr. and Thelma, San Francisco; Jerry and Darlene, Freemont, California; Eugene and Charlene, Oakdale, Connecticut. Also three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Mary and Ray Kolar, Birchwood, Wisconsin; Lillian and Duane Cordie, and Helen Grittner, all of St. Paul. Three brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Lois, St. Paul; Jerry and Esther, New Brighton, Minnesota; Peter and Laura, Minneapolis. Also 46 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son Stanley; a grandson, Don Gillis, two sisters and a brother.

Friends may call at Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Parish memorial at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum.
