Killed was John Ibe, 75, of 108 E. Columbia Ave., who worked at Hipke Farms near New Holstein.
Ibe’s death was the third Calumet County highway fatality of the week and also the third for the year. In 1960 the county did not register its first highway fatality until Jan. 18.
Traveling alone, Ibe’s car skidded off the left shoulder of the highway a half-mile north of New Holstein, went into the ditch, and rolled over. Ibe was thrown from the car, but was pinned under the wreckage when it overturned.
Death was attributed to a fractured skull.
The accident, witnessed by a trucker, was investigated by County Officer Fred Martens, Under-sheriff C. J. Kosmosky and New Holstein police. They placed the time of the accident
