Born in Moncton, Nova Scotia [sic?], he was a resident of Peabody for many years. He was employed as a lumberman by the J.D. Jeffers Lumber co. in Peabody for 20 years, having retired for more than 15 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 sons, Donald Armstrong of Middleton, George F. Armstrong Jr. of Peabody, Robert P. Armstrong of Peabody, Richard I. Armstrong of Salem and Kenneth Armstrong of Salem; 5 daughters, Mrs. George (Shirley) Hockenhull of Peabody, Mrs. Ludwik (Blanche) Barnes of Middleton, Mrs. Earl (Barbara) Prescott of Middleton, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Lee of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Roger (Marilyn) Gagnon of Salem; 27 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m in the Eustis Cornell Funeral Home.
