Self employed as a house painter on the North Shore for many years. Retired as a maintenance worker at Salem District Court after 13 years.
Mr. Armstrong had been a member of the Lafayette Association, the Salem Moose Lodge #218 where his memorial service was held. He was a member of the Cressy Dockham Bowling League for over twenty five years.
Survived by his wife; 2 children of Illinois and Beverly, MA and their spouses, as well as 5 grandchildren.
Also survived by 2 of his sisters, Shirley Hockenhull of Gloucester and Barbara Prescott of Danvers and many nieces and nephews.
His ashes were scattered in the water at Salem Willows, where his brother's ashes had previously been scattered.
