Mrs. Frank Steffen, 72, of R. 1, New Holstein, died early today at the Manitowoc County Hospital where she had been a patient the past five years.
The former Veronica Seichter was born September 14, 1894 in town Brothertown, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Seichter. She attended the Charlesburg Catholic School. On August 26, 1919 she was married to Frank Steffen at Charlesburg. Mrs. Steffen was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church, Town Charlestown, and a member of the Christian Mothers Society of the church.
Survivors include her husband; six sons, Leander of Sheboygan Falls, Randolph, Kenneth, Arlyn, all of New Holstein, and Hermes and Allen, both of Kiel; one daughter, Mrs. Alois (Genevieve) Heimann of R. 1, New Holstein; 18 grandchildren.
Also survived by one brother, Bernard of Sheboygan; and seven sisters, Mrs. Otto Ludwig and Mrs. Clarence Kleinhans, both of Chilton, Mrs. Hubert Nett and Mrs. Joseph Beumler, both of Kiel, Mrs. Albert Ott of Sheboygan Falls, and Mrs. Helen Gebhard and Mrs. Emil Landrath, both of Sheboygan. One son, one daughter and two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home, New Holstein and at St. Martin's Catholic Church, the Rev. Arnolf Buck, pastor celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
