Deceased Name: G. Wayne Heberlig

G. Wayne Heberlig, 101, a resident of Ephrata Manor, formerly of Akron and Ephrata, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Ephrata Manor. His wife, the late Mabel M. (Adams) Heberlig, passed away in 1986.

Wayne was born in Newburg, Cumberland County, PA, son of the late George and Anne Heberlig. He was a graduate of Shippensburg High School and The Pennsylvania State University and was a retired Plant Manager for Penn Dairies at their Ephrata, Gettysburg, and Lancaster locations. He also ran the Ice Cream Department of the Lancaster plant.

He was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ in Ephrata. Wayne was also a member and Past ­Master of Ephrata Blue Lodge
665 F and AM and a member of the Reading Consistory and Knights Templar of Lancaster.
In addition, he was a member of the Johnstown, PA Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge, a Life Member of the Penn State Alumni Association and the Alpha Zeta Fraternity, and a member and past president of the Ephrata Rotary Club and ­Lincoln Friendly Circle.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan H. Lied of Akron, PA; a granddaughter, The Rev. Kathryn L., wife of David Kuhn of Lancaster, PA; three grandsons: William D. Lied, husband of Denise, of Hatfield, PA, Terry L. Lied, husband of Melinda, of Lebanon, PA, and Timothy L. Lied, husband of Audrey of Lebanon, PA; and seven great grandchildren: Jacklyn, Tyler, Sarah, Abigail, Brian, Caitlynn, and Gabriel.

Friends will be received at the Donecker Chapel at Ephrata Manor, 99 Bethany Rd., Ephrata, PA 17522, from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen Ericson officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Donations in Wayne's memory may be made to the Ephrata Manor Benevolent Fund at the above address or, to Bethany U.C.C. 140 East Main St., Ephrata, PA 17522.
