Harvey F. Konen, age 73, of New Holstein died Thursday May 26, 2005 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 1, 1932 in Johnsburg a son of the late Albert and Laura Koenigs Konen. He attended St. John the Baptist grade school. Harvey served in the Army during the Korean Conflict in the Artillery 5th Armored Division from 1951 to 1953.

On Nov. 26, 1953 he married Delphine Wagner in Jericho. Harvey worked at Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein for 43 years; he retired in 1994.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the Catholic Knights; a former member of the Town of Calumet and New Holstein Fire Departments.

Survivors include his wife, Delphine of New Holstein; a son, Charles (Linda) Konen of New Holstein; a daughter, Lynn (Ken) Schnell of Cleveland; five grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob and Rachel Schnell and Bradley and Kayla Konen; a step grandson, Ben Schnell; two sisters, Evelyn Olig of Fond du Lac and Dolores Anhalt of New Holstein.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Rodney in 1958, and a brother, Eugene.
