He was born October 12, 1904, in Johnsburg, a son of John and Elizabeth Schmitz Konen. On October 25, 1927, he married the former Laura Koenigs in Mount Calvary.
Mr. Konen, who lived in the Johnsburg area all of his married life, was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and its Holy Name Society.
Surviving Mr. Konen are his widow; two sons, Eugene Konen of Fond du Lac and Harvey Konen of New Holstein; two daughters, Mrs. Orville Anhalt of New Holstein, and Mrs. Eugene Olig of Fond du Lac; three brothers, Emil and Ferdinand Konen of Fond du Lac and Clemens Konen of Sheboygan Falls; and 11 grandchildren.
Two brothers, one sister and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
Brief family rites for Mr. Konen will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Lisowe-Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud followed by services at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Johnsburg. The Rev. Henry Langenfeld will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Funeral services for Albert Konen of Route 1, Malone, who died Saturday, were held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Lisowe-Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Johnsburg. The Rev. Henry Langenfeld officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Ben Hilt, Edward and Andrew Schumacher, Alfred Haensgen, Ambrose Koenigs and Sylvester Stephany. Active pallbearers were Anthony Lefeber, Claude Krebsbach, Stanley Stephanie, Delmore Koenigs, Francis and Jerome Konen.
