"Funeral services for Miss Alice Belle Welch, 57, who died Tuesday at Fulton, Mo., will be held at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Gillespie funeral home with the Rev. J. W. Watts, pastor of the East Broadway Christian church, officiating.

The body was brought to Sedalia Wednesday and was taken to the Gillespie funeral home. Miss Welch was born November 23, 1891, daughter of Thomas Henry and Catherine Welch, both of whom preceded her in death. When a young girl she joined the First Christian church holding membership there a number of years.

Surviving are these sisters and brothers, Mrs. Mae Ream and Mrs. Effie Dybro, Sedalia; George Welch, Clarksburg; Henry T. Welch, Route 3, Sedalia; Cecil Welch, Ypsilanti, Mich.; Mrs. William Whitley, Ann Arbor, Mich.; Simmie W. Welch, 1020 West Eleventh Street and Mrs. Mary Wimer of Route 3, Sedalia. Three other brother, Arthur, Emmett, and Ernest Welch preceded her in death. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. J. W. Watts and Mrs. Gene Whittington will sing, "Going Down the Valley," "Whispering Hope," and "Asleep in Jesus." Nephews who will serve as pall bearers are: Jarold L. Welch, Bishop and Roy Ream, Leroy and Harry Wimer and Harry Ream. Interment will be in the Hopewell cemetery." - Sedalia Democrat - Thurs. Oct. 28, 1948 pg. 6
