John Thomas Henry Welch died this morning at his home, 16 miles north of Sedalia, aged 55 years. Besides a widow, he is survived by ten children: Mrs. Lee Ream, Ernest, Effie, George, Alice, Henry, Simmie, Mary, Cecil and Josephine Welch.
Note: Son of Jeptha and Nancy Benningfield Welch, wife was Jemmia Catherine Payne Welch Giddens. Family history indicated he was born in 1847. (more than likely an error, since his mother Nancy was born 1837) - Down By Pinhook - Becky Imhauser and Betty Singer pg.240
