Mrs. Jemmia Catherine Giddens, 68 years old, died at her home, 1819 S. Warren Ave., following an illness of several weeks.
She was the widow of the Rev. John J. Giddens. Mrs. Giddens was born in Missouri, Aug. 8, 1859. She was twice married. Her first husband, Thomas Welch, died on June 14, 1912, while Rev. Giddens died in 1923.
Surviving are 11 grandchildren: Mrs. Mae Ream, Mrs. Effie Dybro, Miss Alice Welch, Simmie Welch, George Lee Welch and Mrs. Mary Winner, Rt. 2, Cecil Welch of Colorado and Mrs. Josephine Whitley of Detroit, Mich. Emmett Arthur Welch died in infancy.
Funeral services will be conducted at the East Broadway Christian Church, of which she was a member, Friday afternoon, Rev. W. B. McGraw of the East Sedalia Baptist Church to officiate. Interment will be in the Hopewell Cemetery.

(Obituary was in error; She married Thomas Welch on Aug. 21, 1879, and the Rev. John J. Giddens on July 19, 1916. Also her tombstone says that she was born in 1857)

C. Payne born in Kentucky and Mary Greer (pretty sure it's a G the writing is hard to read) also of Kentucky
