"Stanley W. Banes, 84, Raymore, MO, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2003, at Foxwood Springs Care Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 6, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons White Chapel, Gladstone, MO; burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Stanley was born September 16, 1918, in California, MO, to Virgil and Elsie Banes. He retired as a mechanic for TWA in 1980 and maintained an interest in small aircraft. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Banes. Survivors include his wife, Audna; daughters, Sharon Jenner, Belton, MO, and Marsha Slater, Lake Tahoe, NV; sister, Marjorie Pirtle, Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren." The Kansas City Star, January 3, 2003
