PITTSFIELD, BERKSHIRE Co., MA - Mr. Willis Henry Snyder ( 74y ) d: September 19, 1995 - of 44 Parker St. died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Dalton on Jan. 2, 1921, son of James H. and Jessie Porter Snyder, he attended school in Dalton. An Army veteran of World War II, he served as a medic in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, the Ardennes and Central Europe. Mr. Snyder was a barber for 25 years ar Snyder's Barber Shop in Pittsfield. He was also employed at GE ordnance systems, retiring in 1986. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of its family Society. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a scratch golfer who played at Wahconah Country Club and also enjoyed traveling. He leaves his wife of 49 years, the former A. Mildred Cullen, whom he married Sept. 2, 1946; four sons, Douglas Snyder of Lee, David Snyder of Brooklyn, N.Y., Ronald Snyder of Dalton and Lawrence Snyder of Northampton; three daughters, Ms. Nancy Christopher and Mrs. Judith Ostrikis, both of Pittsfield, and Miss Kimberly Snyder of Boston; three brothers, George and Charles Snyder, both of Pittsfield, and Robert Snyder of Dalton; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Hilton of Virginia and Mrs. Harriet Bulter of Dalton; 12 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
