Bill was born Oct. 10, 1938, in Mackinaw to William S. Wells Sr. and Anna (Reel) Wells. He married Marietta Judson on May 9, 1959, in Pekin.
He is survived by his wife, Marietta; one daughter, Dianne Wyant of Pekin, one son, David Wells of Pekin; three grandchildren, Zachary, Carlos and Cecilia Wyant; one brother, Ernest "Gene" Wells of Groveland; two sisters, Deloris Otto of Lincoln and Roberta (Ray DeWester) Wells; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ray, Donald and Willis Wells.
Bill was raised in the rural Mackinaw-Tremont area and graduated from Tremont High School in 1956.
He enjoyed being outdoors and filling his leisure hours with gardening and yard work. He also enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Bears and playing cards. Bill was a Bradley basketball fan.
His family was very important to him. Bill and his grandchildren loved to play Monopoly together.
Bill retired from Caterpillar in 1992 after 30 years of service.
He was of the Methodist faith.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at Glendale Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting Bill's family with arrangements.
