Robert L. Alt, 77, of Rt. 1, Box 175-A, Keyser, WV, died Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Braddock Campus of the WMHS, Cumberland, MD.
Born on July 29, 1930 at Martin, WV, he was a son of the late Charles B. and Etta F. (Shreve) Alt. He also was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Michael Tranum; three brothers, Benjamin, Ira and Dayton Alt and a sister, Mabel Aldridge.

Mr. Alt was retired with 42 years of service from the Westvaco Luke Mill in Number 6 & 7 Machine Rooms. He was Protestant by faith and in his earlier years, was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Tina E. (Kimble) Alt; one daughter, Ellen Lee Tyson and husband Mikel of Inwood, WV; four sons, Thomas J. Alt and wife Stephenie of Keyser, Larry Mark Alt and wife Linda of Ethel, WV, Robert D. Alt and wife Laurie of Burlington, WV and Donald B. Alt and wife Donna of Keyser; one brother, Charles B. Alt, Jr. and wife Pauline of Keyser; four sisters, Beulah Staggs of Keyser, Catherine Robinson of North Carolina, Mary Neff of Hot Springs, VA and Ruth Fazenbaker and husband John of Westernport, MD; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Friends were received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday, August 7 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services were conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, August 8 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Samuel Biser officiating.

Interment was in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
