Ava Viola Norris was born April 27, 1908 to Lewis Jiles Norris and Nancy Elizabeth Jones Nnorris near Fremont, Missouri. She departed this life Oct. 26, 1996 at Birch Tree, Mo. at age 88 yrs.

On July 18, 1924 Ava married Lee Campbell of Hopkins Co., KY. and to this union three children were born. Ann, (Riley Lege, Bob Weaver), Tom, (Myrll Barnes, Rosalie Fallon) and Lois (Bill Downs, Don Barkley).

She married William Washington Tucker about 1932, and he brought seven children to this union, Walter (Pearl Miller), Dorothy (Job McNeeley), Ray, (Elizabeth Miller), Roy, (Nora Brown), Vernon, (Eileen Dickerson), and Kate (Mel Vermillion), all of whom preceded her in death, and Erma (Buck Lucy, Ralph Little) of Arnold, Missouri.

Wash and Ava were blessed with five children of their own, June (Gene Roberts), Wayne, (Loretta Trammel), Sharon (Ron Wallace, Doug Davis), Doris, (Bonnie Lampkins), and Judy (Gene Lee Hubert Walker).

Ava spent most of her life in Shannon County. She was the sixth child in a large loving family and she carried that love over to her own family. They will always remember her as a very devoted wife and mother.

Preceding her in death are her husbands, Lee Campbell and Wash Tucker, her parents, six step children, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, several step grandchildren, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.

Ava is survived by her eight children, one stepdaughter, 28 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren, one sister, Nellie Craig, and one brother, Oscar 'Brownie' Norris, along with many more family and friends.

Services for Ava Tucker were held at 1 pm Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona with Rev. Glen Hampton officiating.

Interment was in the Horner Cemetery in Winona on Rocky Creek under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home.
