Judy Lynn (Tucker) Walker was born on August 16, 1948, the daughter of William Washington “Wash” and Ava Viola (Norris) Tucker.

Both parents having had previous marriages with children, Judy was the youngest child of twelve born to her father, the youngest of eight born to her mother and the youngest sibling of fifteen.

Judy passed from this life at the age of 70 years on April 28, 2019, at her home in Winona, MO.

At the tender age of fifteen, it was discovered that Judy had a heart problem and she endured open-heart surgery in Columbia, MO. This was not a deterrent, as she persevered and graduated from Winona High School in 1967 and attended college in Springfield, MO.

On July 1, 1976, Judy was united in marriage to Hubert 'Red' Walker, and became a mother to his three children, Darren Walker (partner Lori Weible), Winona, MO, Teresa (husband Mike) McCarrel, Cheyenne, WY, and Anita Fox, Cheyenne, WY.

She was the grandmother of Aaron and Brennan Walker, Winona, MO, Joey McCarel (wife Jessy) Tuscon, AZ, Justin McCarrel, Cheyenne, WY, Logan Fox (partner Chantelle Garland) of Brevard, NC, and Ryan Fox, Cheyenne, WY. Her great-grandchildren are Graylin and Kinsley McCarrel and Ryder, Kayden, Jamael and Solomon Fox.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Wash and Ava; and siblings, Walter Tucker, Ray Tucker, Dorothy (Tucker) McNeeley, Roy Tucker, Vernon Tucker, Katie (Tucker) Vermillion, Erma (Tucker) Little, Anna Lee (Campbell ) Weaver, Tom Campbell, Lois (Campbell) Barkley, Wayne Tucker and Doris Tucker.

She is survived by her husband Hubert 'Red', the above-listed children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two siblings, June Tucker Roberts and Sharon Tucker Davis both of Winona, MO; and one special sister-in-law, Jackie Tucker of Los Angeles, CA; many nieces, nephews, cousins, etc., too numerous to name. Surviving also is a special close friend from childhood, Mary (Roderman) Wilson of Kansas City, and Mary’s son Ben, and daughter, Heidi.

Judy was an independent woman and a staunch supporter of any cause she believed in, be it hers alone or part of everyone else’s.

She spent many years researching her family history along with that of her husband, Red. In 1992, Judy, along with several others became founding members of the Winona Historical and Genealogical Society, which later became the Shannon County Historical and Genealogical Society based in Winona, MO. For many years, Judy also volunteered and served as President of the Winona Public Library. She was proud of these accomplishments and rightly so. If not for those many years of service and sacrifice, Winona would not have had a library, of which many have enjoyed over the years.

Judy will be dearly missed by her friends, acquaintances, and most of all by her family. Perhaps she will be kept busy in Heaven updating our loved ones of how we all are here on Earth. Rest in Peace Judy, you will be thought of often from the hearts of many.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Yarber Mortuary Chapel in Winona, with interment at Mount Zion Cemetery.
