Dorothy A. Peterson, age 85, of 403 Christel Drive, Valders, died Monday evening, July 30, 2012 at the Sharon Richardson Community Hospice Center of Sheboygan Falls, WI.

Dorothy was born December 3, 1926, in Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late Anton and Mary (Zipperer) Kleiber. She graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1944.

On May 5, 1951, she married Patrick Peterson at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alverno. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1978. Dorothy was employed with Manitowoc County Aging Resource Center as an Account Clerk for many years retiring in 1996. She was also a member of the NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) serving as Secretary/Treasurer for several years. Dorothy was also a member of the Marion Council at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, where she also volunteered many hours at St. Mary parochial grade school.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Mary & James Eischen, Random Lake, Patricia & Michael Moore, Valders, Marcia & John Baer, Deland, FL; five sons and daughters-in-law: Michael & Debbie Peterson, Manitowoc, Gregg & Charlene Peterson, Brillion, Dr. Thomas & Geraldine Peterson, Manitowoc, Mark & Beverly Peterson, The Woodlands, TX, James & Eugenia Peterson, Chilton; 34 Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Bernard & Carole Kleiber, Plymouth, Merle Kleiber, Charlevoix, MI, Benedict & Patti Kleiber, Milton, MA, Jerome Kleiber, Los Angeles, CA; four sisters and four brothers-in-law: Dolores Holschbach, Manitowoc, Rose Marie & Ted Jarosh, Neenah, Monica & Gene Ahrens, Sheboygan, Helen & Fred Crocker, Trenton, NJ; and Andrew Holschbach, rural Two Rivers. Also surviving are five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Owen Peterson & special friend Bonnie, John & Judy Peterson, Paul & Rosemary Peterson, Erwin (Buddy) Delsman, all of Michigan and Roger Foerg, Florida. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Jennifer Peterson; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: John Kleiber, Richard & Gloria Kleiber and his second wife Harriet and Anthony Kleiber; two sisters: Rita Kleiber, Marion Holschbach; a brother-in-law: Donald Holschbach; and four brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law: Bernard & Dorothy (Dottie) Peterson, Kathleen Delsman, Barbara Foerg and Sue Peterson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. David Zimmerman with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th Street, Manitowoc, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm. led by Rev. David Zimmerman. Friends may also call Friday morning at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.
