Pearl Robert Donald Harmon, 77, of Calhoun, passed away on November 23, 2013, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois.

A memorial service will be held at The Revival Center, 701 N. Silver St., for all family members and friends. Pastor Troy Reynolds will officiate. Summers-Kistler Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Robert was born on January 19,1936, in Olney, the son of Pearl (Shorty) Harmon and Violet (Dunlap) Harmon. He married the love of his life, Lovetta Simmons, on April 18, 1954.

He was an Army veteran. He was also a Scoutmaster for the Calhoun Boy Scouts troop for many years. He loved history and from that love he built a museum in Calhoun to share this love with anyone interested. The museum was open for years until his health deteriorated.

Robert is greatly loved and missed by those he is survived by: a son, Daniel Harmon, of Christopher; two daughters, Darlene Miller, of McLeansboro, and Stephanie Gerber, of Calhoun; 12 grandchildren, 20-great-grandchildren, and two great-greatgrandchildren; five sisters, Juanita Runyon, Ruby Haws, Carol Bass, Elizabeth Govers and Linda Jackson; several nieces and nephews, and many more family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lovetta, a son, Steven Harmon; his parents, Shorty and Violet Harmon; a sister, Helen Harmon; three brothers, Neil Harmon, Ray Harmon and Eddie Joe Harmon; and six great-grandchildren.
