Violet Ellen Harmon, 93, of Olney, Ill., died at her home at 10:42 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral service will be at noon Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Robert Harmon of Calhoun, Ill.; five daughters, Juanita Runyon and husband, Roscoe, of Olney, Ruby Haws of Olney, Rosemary Bass of Albion, Ill., Elizabeth Govers and husband, Francis, and Linda Jackson of Olney; daughters-in-law, Frances Harmon, Kathy Harmon and Verna Harmon; two half-sisters, Helen Clements of Florida and Frances Harris of St. Louis; 29 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 42 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Marion and Nora Mae Bellinger Dunlap; her husband, Pearl "Shorty" Harmon; one daughter, Helen; three sons, Eddie Joe, Neil and Raymond Harmon; her grandson, Robbie Joe Harmon; daughter-in-law, Lovetta Harmon; sons-in-law, Chester Bass and George Haws; sister, Mabel Ellen Compton; two half-brothers, Arthur and Michael Dunlap; and one half-sister, Pauline Liston.
She was a homemaker.
Summers-Kistler Funeral Home is in charge of
