NEWARK.
A sad event was the death of Miss Hester Chilton, which occurred last Saturday night. She was in her accustomed place in the Baptist revival when stricken. She was carried to the home of R. M. Abbott and although loving hands and the doctor did all that could be done, she passed away in about twenty minutes. Hester was born March 6, 1885 {sic], and died August 17, 1912. She had been a faithful member of the Baptist church since 1905. She was also an active member of the Baptist Aid society. She leaves to mourn their loss, a father, mother and two brothers, besides a host of relatives and friends. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Stokely in the Baptist church Monday, at 11 a. m., after which the remains were laid to rest in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. We know Hester is with "Him who doeth all things well."
