Edward T. Hess, 75, of Birkbeck Street, Freeland, died Monday at Hazleton General Hospital.
Born in Highland, he was the son of the late John F. and Rose Sabol Hess.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Freeland; a painter for the former Hazleton Pumps and a life long talented mechanic.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents, was a sister, Rose Marie Groth.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Elsie Wald; a son (private), a daughter (private), a brother (private) and grand and great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the McNulty Funeral Home, 494 E. Butler Drive, Freeland, with a mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Freeland.
Burial will follow in Freeland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
