Not much is known about Heinrich except that I have records that shows he was born to Peter Anton Doemer and Anna Elisabeth Doemer (Rueenaufer), Search the name "Springmann") on May 13th of 1851. Records at Castle Garden's immigration site (www.castlegarden.com) shows that he arrived in the U.S. with his parents on July 22nd, 1852 on the Belgian Ship Maria. He is not listed with this family in the 1860 U.S. census, and a hand drawn chart that I received from the Grandson of Josephine Doemer shows that Heinrich died sometime later in 1852 of unknown causes. In those days, the only Catholic Cemetery available in the Detroit area was Mount Ellliot. Fires and later vandalism destroyed many records, so I have no idea which plot Henrich was buried in. Chances are pretty good that it was in the Free Area, but the exact location is unknown.
