John Doemer was the sixth child of Peter Anton Doemer, and Anna Elisabeth Doemer (nee. Rueenaufer Search under the name "Springmann") John married Ida M. Huff about 1888. John and Ida had four children, all boys. They were: John Robert Doemer (b. December 31st, 1889 d. January 11th, 1950), Joseph W. Doemer (b. June 15th, 1891 d. June 26th, 1953), Anthony John Doemer (b. November 16th, 1894 d. July 22nd, 1921) and Charles Phillip Doemer (b. January 6th, 1899 d. January 2nd, 1972) John [father] served as a Detroit City Fireman sometime around 1885 for seven years before transferring to the Detroit City Police Department. John served as a policeman on the Belle Isle. beat where he was known as "Johnnie Quickstep". John retired in 1917 but had to take work in 1929 as a security guard at a bank during some of the depression years.
