Mrs. Lucy H. Ferguson, age 40, wife of Lee Ferguson of Rural Route One near Hindustan, died at 4 o'clock this morning [sic] at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Glenna Ferguson, on the Bloomfield Road. For four weeks Mrs. Lucy Ferguson had been at the home west of town. She had undergone an operation for carcinoma 15 months ago.
The daughter of John and Anna Davis Riggs, Mrs. Ferguson was a native of Monroe county. She was a member of the Garrison chapel.
Surviving, in addition to the husband who is a farmer, are five children, Joseph Edward, Roger Lee, Mary, Billy and John; three sisters, Mrs. Orris Taylor and Mrs. Glen Funkhouser, both of Bloomington, and Mrs. Irvin Beeler of Blufton, and two brothers, John Riggs and Terrell Riggs of Bloomington and Elmer Riggs of Kokomo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the home of Mrs. Glenna Ferguson on the Bloomfield Road and with the Rev. Earl Shreves officiating.
The body will remain at the home west of town until the funeral hour and burial will be in the Clear Creek cemetery.
