She was born February 27, 1906, in the town of Humboldt, daughter of the late Joseph and Jenny (Process) DeGrand. She married Fred Kratz April 23, 1924, in the town of Eaton. She was a homemaker, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and a member of the Ladies Aide.
Lena is survived by five daughters and three sons-in-law, LaVerne and Clarence Kangas, Green Bay, Lucille Gronke, Kewaunee, Bernice and Lester Behnke, Brillion, Lillian Mangin, Whitelaw, Evelyn and Wesley Loos, Chilton; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Art and Diane Kratz, Brillion, Ralph and Audrey Kratz, Manitowoc, Norbert and Barbara Kratz, Brillion; 37 grandchildren; 73 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, One daughter, Helen, one son, Henry, two sons-in-law, George Mangin and Ralph Gronke, a daughter-in-law, Helen Kratz, three grandchildren, two sisters and seven brothers.
