He was born December 2, 1924 in the town of Eaton, son of Lena Degrand Kratz, Brillion, and her late husband, Fred.
On December 31, 1955, he married Helen Warden at DuBuque, Iowa. He was employed at Brillion Iron Works for 28 years.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Dianne) Freidenberger, Hilbert; two sons, Fred of Brillion and Harold at home, his mother, five sisters, Mrs. Clarence Kanges of Green Bay, Mrs. Ralph Gronke of Kewaunee, Mrs. Lester Behnke of Brillion, Mrs. George Mangin of Whitelaw and Mrs. Wesley Loose of Chilton; three brothers, Arthur and Norbert both of Brillion, and Ralph of Manitowoc; three grandchildren. A sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, the Rev. Robert Gossett, pastor of Faith Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Community Cemetery, Brillion.
