Dorothy M. Halbach, age 90, of Chilton, died on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Century Ridge in Chilton. She was born March 24, 1924 in Chilton daughter of the late Martin & Eva (Bircholz) Salm. Following WWII, Dorothy married Arvin Halbach at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton; he preceded her in death on October 4, 2006. Dorothy devoted her life to raising her children, and caring for those around her. She was very family oriented and looked forward to getting together with her siblings to play cards, talk, and solve all of the world's problems together. Dorothy also kept her mind going in all circumstances by reading, doing word searches, and quilting. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, and supported various charitable organizations in whatever capacity she could. Survivors include her children: Judy (Tom) Campbell, Steve Halbach, JoAnn (Al) Fritschel, Sandy (Charlie) Hart; 8 grandchildren: Sarah (Chris), Tony (Staci), Matt (Michelle), Chris, Zach, Alex (Dana), Jon, & Stephanie; 6 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Mary Bartels, Barb Wood, Sr. Bernadette Salm; and 5 brothers: Lou, Ed, Larry, Ray, & Marty Salm. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 3 sisters: Margaret Reinl, Teresa Weed, Fran Manning; and 3 brothers: John, Mike & Bill Salm. Funeral service will be at 11:30 am on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Larry Abler O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Entombment will be in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am until 11:30 am on Tuesday, April 8, 2014.
