Mr. Kenneth M. Womack, age 81 of Athens, formerly of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his residence in Athens. Mr. Womack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that he met. He was a faithful Christian and raised a Christian family.
Friends may visit with the family 3:00 pm until 9:00 Wednesday at Southern Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Bill Staples and John Quarles officiating. Interment will be at Springhill Cemetery near Jonesboro.
Mr. Womack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Womack of Athens; children, Tony Womack and wife Tye of Houston, LaDonna Green and husband Terry of Homer, Hurl Womack and wife Lisa of Houston; grandchildren, Shawn Womack and wife Sheila, John Quarles and wife Rebecca, Kasi Quarles Kendrick and husband Joel, Dustin Womack, William Womack; great-grandchildren, Seth Lowe, Mize Womack, Jena Womack, Max Quarles, Landry Quarles, Emily Womack, Jadyn Womack; brothers, Delmer Womack, Nelson Womack & wife Veda, Jerry Womack and wife Patsy; uncle, Milton Mize and wife Faye.
Mr. Womack was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend C.E. Womack and Mary Lee Anna (Mize) Womack; brother, LaVelle Womack; sisters, Tressie Rasberry, Gertrude Pierce, Viola Holtzclaw, Mary Lee Hay, Armor Leigh Gray, Maxine Jones.
Pallbearers will be: Shawn Womack, John Quarles, Dustin Womack, William Womack, Seth Lowe, Mize Womack, Max Quarles.
