Harold Martin, 62, of 854 E. Knox Rd., Beaverton, died suddenly Saturday, Oct. 2, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Saginaw.
Born in Maderia, Calif., Sept. 29, 1926, he had spent most of his life here. Mr. Martin, a boilermaker and member of the Boilermakers Local 169, Dearborn, retired in 1985 after 35 years. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Derringer American Legion Post in Waukegan, Ill.
Mr. Martin and the former Lillian St. Aubin were married in 1945 in Midland.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Harold of Beaverton; one daughter, Nancy Knoch of Beaverton; 2 brothers, Ernest of Averill and Richard of Midland; 2 sisters, Goldie Morse of Midland and Gladys Clark of Iron River; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, LeRoy, in March 1951, a daugter, Mary Chritz, August 1975, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Buddy Dodge officiated and burial was in the Billings Township Cemetery. Graveside military rites were by the Gladwin County VFW Post 7303. Gladwin County Record dated 10-26/1988.
