Irven Martin, 87, of Billings Township, Beaverton, died Saturday, April 15, in the Hills and Dales Hospital, Cass City, after a short illness.
Born in Ionia County on September 28, 1890, he came to Gladwin County 80 years ago. He was a retired farmer.
Mr. Martin and the former Aletha Chamberlain were married on September 28, 1910. She preceded him in death in May 1951.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Gladys) Clark of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Lowell (Goldie) Morse and Mrs. Jack (Marion) Branscom of Midland; 3 sons, Harold of Beaverton, Ernest of Coleman and Richard of Midland; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mabel Winn of Gladwin and Mrs. Goldie McCrandall of Beaverton; one brother, Walter of Beaverton; 29 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Six sons and a daughter also preceded him in death.
Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Fall officiated and burial was in the Billings Cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 4-12/1978.
