Mrs. Lester Sylvia Zipperer, age 70, of 151132 W. Hillcrest Road, Cato, died Tuesday evening, September 15, 1992, at Holy Family Hospital Memorial Medical Center
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 18, 1992, at 10:15 a.m. at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Rev. Ralph Merkatoris will officiate with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Kellnersville.
She was born October 18, 1921, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Albert and Mary Stradal Shimek. She grew up in the Grimms area attending local schools and also attending Reedsville High School. She and her husband farmed in the Texas area all her life. She enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She was married to Lester Zipperer May 9, 1938, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Reedsville. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville.
Survivors include her husband, Lester; six sons and four daughters-in-law, Lester Jr and Betty Zipperer, rural Reedsville, Albert Zipperer, Menchalville, Robert Zipperer, at home, Eugene and Gertrude Zipperer, rural Reedsville, Thomas and Marge Zipperer, Whitelaw, Michael and Joan Zipperer, rural Reedsville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Gerald Kalies, Cato, Donna and Burch Hickmann, St. Nazianz, Mary Lou and Ronald Schultz, rural Greenleaf, Beverly and Frank Griffin, Valders; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton and Edna Shimek, Brillion, Alfred and Clara Shimek, Connecticut, Paul and Darlene Shimek, Whitelaw, Henry and Jean Shimek, Reedsville; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mary Thompson, rural Valders, Mabel and Harold Bodart, rural Valders, Dorothy and Mike O’Neil, rural Valders, Kathryn and Paul Braun, Manitowoc; 41 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one infant granddaughter.
Friends may call at the Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville 5-9 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 1992. There will be a parish prayer service at 6 p.m. said by Rev. Ralph Merkatoris.
