Dorothy Ann Wheeler, age 79, of Edina, MO passed away Friday, September 12, 2014, in the Salt River Nursing Home at Shelbina, MO. She was born October 8, 1934, at Edina, MO, the daughter of Charles Cleveland and Maude Ellen Cheatum Raymer. She was united in marriage to Charles R. "Shorty" Wheeler at Hannibal, MO, on January 31, 1954, he preceded her in death on January 23, 1992. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Margaret Jean Smith, Betty Joe Parrish and Doris Elizabeth Pruett, and two brothers George and Charles Raymer. Surviving are one sister Mildred Pyles of Licking, MO, three step children and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy was raised at Edina, MO, where she received her education. She and her husband lived all their life in Edina where she was employed at the Glove Factory for over twenty years. Dorothy enjoyed flowers, quilting, hunting and fishing. She was a member of the Edina Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Visitation will be held 12 noon till time of services at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home on Tuesday. Reverend Mike Wilson will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Linville Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jim Parrish, Paul Burton, Mark Stone, Richard Coffey, Gene White and Neal Ehrenreich. Memorials in memory of Dorothy Wheeler may be made to the American Cancer Society.
