Betty Joe Parrish, age 82, of Knox City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008, in St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born May 19, 1925 in Knox County, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Cleveland and Maude Ellen Cheatum Raymer. On May 29, 1943, she was united in marriage to Howard R. Parrish and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Charles and George Raymer, two sisters, Margaret Jean Smith and Doris Elizabeth Pruett and two grandsons, John Brian Parrish and Adam Parrish, three granddaughters, Lisa Parrish Jernigan, Rhonda Parrish and Susan Parrish. Surviving are three children, Thomas F. Parrish and wife Carol of Warrenton, Missouri. James L. Parrish and wife Linda of Unionville, Missouri, one daughter Marsha Burton and husband Paul of Knox City, Missouri, two sisters, Dorothy Ann Wheeler of Edina, Missouri and Mildred Pyles of Licking, Missouri, five grandchildren, Andy Parrish and wife Lori, Diane Leck, Joshua Parrish and wife Liz, Philip Parrish, and Andrea Botkins and husband Chris, two step-grandchildren, Randy Ballanger and wife Angie and Karrie Toohill and husband Steve, five great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Parrish was raised in Knox County where she received her education at the Edina Public School. She was employed with Burnham Manufacturing in Edina for over thirty years till her retirement. She enjoyed garage sales, flea markets, her animals and spending time with family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was going to the Clothes Closet and giving the workers there a hard time.
